Innovating Hospitality: Recap of the E20X 2026 Finalists

One of the highlights of HITEC each year is the E20X Startup Competition, where emerging hospitality technology companies showcase innovative solutions designed to tackle some of the industry’s biggest challenges. Cogwheel Analytics was a part of this competition in 2022 and continues to participate in their exhibit each year.

This year’s theme? Take a wild guess. AI!!

My biggest gripe: Most of the technology were add-ons to existing technology, not changing the underlying tech stack issue most hotels face (albeit one)!

Friend and industry leader, Susan Barry of Top Floor Podcast, says, “I’m not convinced founders are focused on improving the guest experience. Automating one small piece of the hotel tech stack isn’t meaningful until the guest feels it.”

Abra Hospitality

Abra Hospitality is focused on helping hotels create a unified intelligence layer that connects fragmented data and staff knowledge to focus on anticipatory service. Their platform combines operational insights, AI-driven recommendations, and automated actions through integrations with hotel systems. A key differentiator is the use of voice interfaces and gamification to encourage staff participation to add and improve data quality over time.

Altek AI

Altek AI helps hotels automate guest email communications. With roughly 30% of guest emails containing revenue intent, the platform drafts responses, creates workflows, and can modify reservations directly through PMS integrations. Their goal is simple: Give hotel teams their time back by using AI to automate emails while improving response speed and consistency.

Bonafide

As AI-powered search becomes more common, Bonafide helps hotels ensure accurate information is available wherever guests are searching. The platform curates content from existing hotel systems and structures it for AI discovery, helping brands maintain consistency across digital channels. They leverage subdomains to make LLMs find content easily.

Caleta

Caleta helps hotels identify operational risks before they impact guests. It is an operational intelligence and guest experience platform that acts like a “nervous system” for hotels by integrating PMS, labor, and work-order data.  By connecting disparate systems, the platform surfaces issues early, recommends actions, and prioritizes them based on risk, helping teams become more proactive rather than reactive.

Conscious Creative Group

Conscious Creative creates AI-powered virtual concierges that reflect each hotel’s unique personality. Available through voice, text, websites, and QR codes, the platform helps guests discover local experiences while maintaining an authentic brand voice. It is more than a bot, creating unique personalities using voice actors and an intelligent engine to source local happenings.

Lobby

Lobby automates the complex process of managing group bookings, contracts, and inquiries. By connecting communication channels and PMS systems, the platform reduces administrative effort and helps hotels respond faster to group business opportunities. Similar to Altek, it can help with email automation to save time, but can do more complex bookings for groups and tour operators.

Optylink

Optylink simplifies smart room deployments by automatically discovering and configuring devices such as TVs, thermostats, and lighting systems. The platform helps hotels accelerate technology rollouts without requiring additional hardware. This is an overlay of existing technology, partnering with companies like Sonifi, DirecTV, and Dish.

Stayfull

THE ONE THAT RIPS OUT THE EXISTING TECH STACK (if it works). Stayfull is building an AI-native PMS designed for independent hotels. Think: An agent for every position, vibe coded to combine operations, revenue management, marketing, guest service, and automation into a single system powered by specialized AI agents working together behind the scenes. Handles everything from chargebacks to reordering supplies to pushing promotions based on the forecast.

Who were the Winners of E20X 2026?

This year’s finalists shared a common theme: helping hotel teams do more with less. Whether through automation, predictive insights, content management, or operational efficiency, each company demonstrated practical ways AI can solve real hospitality challenges.

  • Stephanie’s Choice: Stayfull
  • People’s Choice: Abra
  • Judges’ Choice: Stayfull

Congratulations to all of the 2026 E20X finalists for helping shape the future of hospitality technology.
